To Blog Again !

I have resurfaced after a year and a half of being off the grid. That's not to say I quit adventures, actually the opposite. My days and weeks have been so full of life. I have met many beautiful and amazing people. Many have touched my life and will forever be a part of me.

So now I pic the journal back up. To Blog Again. Capture the adventures and share the stories. To enjoy the memories and give respect to those around me.

Thank you all!

Truely is my final night here at the lake. Just finished packing, now I sleep one last time on my dock. Amen

MiM Tri

The Orgill Park just north of Millington Navy Base was a great spot for this past weekend’s Olympic Triathlon. I was able to camp in the park along the edge of the golf course. Accommodations were wonderful.
Teaming up with Jamin’ Julie and Blue Duke, the three of us planned for a great day and took 7th place in the Mixed Relay division.

My first mass start in swimming, I quickly realized just how bad I sucked. People were grabbing at my feet as they climbed over me. At 30.52 minutes everyone from 15 year old Paige to 70 year old Susan whoop me. There were a lot of great swimmers there and I know where I must focus my next training. Handing off the race chip, Duke sprinted off on a 22.4 mph ride and an excellent time. Realizing I couldn’t just stand around, I bootlegged into the ride and run, tracking my own unofficial times. Julie finished us up strong completing the 10K in 46 minutes. The greatest part of these races are all the friends you get to meet again and again. Yes even Ronnie, Crazy Ashley and Dee were there. Next year we will do the Mtn and Road Tri’s.

Beantown

Running the streets of Boston lost without a care,
Feeling the excitement next year of being there.

And what better way to see Boston than on an expired drivers license! Unable to obtain a rental car forced me partake in the wonderful mass transportation system. It really was a great way to visit the landmarks of downtown. Even made to Boston Library ie Marathon Finish line which I hope to see next year.

New Cottage

Now its time to start yet another chapter in life. I will soon be moving from the lake and leaving so much of the things I have enjoyed. There are a lot of memories made there over the past 16 years. Kris will be able to keep the Lakehouse where one day our grand children will learn how to swim.

As for me, I have found a cute house in old downtown Corinth. With a hint of Craftsman Bungalow that I have grown so fond of, it has a lot of potential to be converted into an architectural cottage. Guest bedrooms for my girls to stay in when they visit and a master bedroom that lets out onto a large back yard, Gracy and Spike will find room to make their new home. Detached from the house is a 400 sqft apartment and 2 car carport. The apartment will be perfect to convert into a woodshop. With Julie, Duke, and John within blocks, and a close knit friendly neighborhood, I am sure there will be many cookouts on the back patio.

Rites of Spring

Traveled to Memphis this past Saturday to ride 52 miles with the Hightailer bunch on the Rites of Spring. Was a great gathering of 40+ in which I saw many familiar faces while missing others I had hoped to have seen. All welcomed me graciously. The ride took us North from Mud Island into the Shelby Forrest area. Great roads, great hills, great ride

Natchez Trace Construction

The only thing better than riding the Trace….is having it closed to traffic!

Coke n Crawfish

Had a big weekend starting with the Coke Classic 10K. So many friends showed up to run, walk, and push the babied on this neighborhood run.

Sunday was great for a Crawfish Boil and fun on dock and Wallyboard. Jimmy once again performed his magic on some of the largest crawfish I have ever eaten.
